I am trying to download Nero 9 (the free trial from Nero's website) and it states that I need .NET Framework 3.0. The page redirected me to microsoft's downloads to download "Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Redistributable Package".
I checked my programs and I have 1.1, 1.1 Hotfix, 2.0 sp2, 3.0 sp2 and 3.5 sp1. When I tried to download 3.0 RP I receive an error telling me that there is a newer version and I need to either uninstall or repair if the app is not running correctly.
But according to my programs, this .NET Framework 3.0 Redistributable Package is not there. I have tried to run a search, including hidden files and nothing is found.
I thought maybe .NET Framework 3.0 sp2 needed to be repaired. But when I try that I receive the following "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable". It does give me the option to choose another path to the folder containing the installation package 'netfx30a_x86.msi', but I cannot find that either.
This is my first post, so if I gave way too much information I am sorry. I figured the more, the better.
This is really driving me bonkers!! I would really apreciate any help I can get! I am trying to make a Christmas present for my sister :)
Thanking you in advance for any help.

Can you try the following web setup programs to see if they help.

Hope that they help.

I assume you realise "Redistributable Package" means it's the full installer file for whatever software not just .NET Framework 3.0? Normally used to update multiple PC's rather than use Windows Update. I would uninstal your existing NET Framework 3.0 and download the Redistributable Package and install that.

Thank you for responding, but I already have the .NET Framework 3.5 and 3.5 sp1 and the .NET Framework 3.0 is the one that just won't download and is giving me the errors in my original message.

Brim,
Thanks for that information. I didn't know that the "Redistributable Package" was the full installer file.
However, I do not, or rather cannot find, the NET Framework 3.0 on my computer, but I do have the NET Framwork 3.0 sp2 and it won't let me uninstall it or repair it. I get the message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable". It does give me the option to choose another path to the folder containing the installation package 'netfx30a_x86.msi', but I cannot find that either.

I am not sure about this but I think that Nero is just informing you of the requirements. Did you try to download and install Nero 9?
It appears you may already meet the requirements.
Excuse my ignorance but what is WinXP HE?
