I thought I should share a little info I figured out recently.
About two weeks ago my system starting getting blue screens of death for apparently no reason. It was totally random, it seemed like if I looked at my pc wrong it would crap out on me LOL. The two types of errors I was getting were page fault and stop code errors.
All virus scans I ran came up clean, I ran three different ones to be sure. All of the hardware in the device manager was fine. The event viewer showed no problems and the system info tool showed that I didn't have any conflicting or forced hardware. I even took my entire system apart and rebuilt it to make sure everything was clean and seated properly.
After about an hour or so I figured out that Incd was the problem. Three things that indicate (from my experience) that Nero's Incd is at fault are,
1. Your system sometimes crashes when you eject a cd-rw disk.
2. Your system crashes when you try to remove your cd burner from the device manager.
3. General stability problems. The reason I decided to wait a couple of weeks before posting this is because I wanted to be sure that this was infact the problem. Two weeks later and I have not had a single crash, Xp is back to the OS I loved LOL.
If you are having any of these problems and have Incd installed try removing it and see if things straighten up. Running the lastest version of Incd (which I was doing from the start) did not fix the problem either.
If this helps you out please post back. I am thinking of writing Nero to let them know of the problem and proof of the problem helps.

Sandman,
I uninstalled InCD a long time ago for that very reason. It wasn't with XP, though I was using Win ME at the time. But every time I tried to use Nero it would hang my system. After the uninstall - no more problems :) Nero has worked fine on Win Me and XP since.

I had the same problem with InCD when I applied their latest update. If anyone knows where I can get a copy of version 3.31 I would appreciate it.

Thanks for the info, I'll be on the lookout for problems but I have InCD and on my WinXP with SP1, it works great. In fact, I am able to packet write with it using a Pioneer DVD-RW. If you have a late version of Nero, you can download a free updated version of InCD at their site.

I also found the INCD part of my nero setup to be useless all versions of it. It did not cause any system crashes but never worked as it was supposed to. I uninstalled it long ago and have had great luck with the rest of Nero and The native XP Roxio . Just remember to use the same program on the CD as if you have some files created with XP and then add with Nero you cant find your old files. I always label my Cd,s with an X or N so I know wich program to use to add more files to that CD

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll keep posted if I hear anything from Nero.
Thanks again,
Sandman
