Nero won't recognise my cd burner?

I posted something about this yesterday but i cannot find the post so i will type it up again. My old cd burner wasnt working so I got a new one fitte. It works fine because I have burned imagaes and music from windows media player. But Nero doesnt recognise it and in recordes it just says imaga recorder and that's it. I only need nero this time because my pc is going to be reformated and i need to save all my music, so i want to creat and mp3 disc so i can get alot more songs on. But nero does not recognise it and it has never recongiesed any of my cd burners. so can anyone kindly point me in the right direction? Nick

The version of Nero you are using will only work with your old burner, as that is the one it came with. If your new burner came with Nero, uninstall the version you currently have installed, then install the new version. If your new burner didn't come with burning software, you'll need to either purchase Nero, or download one of the many free burning programs available.

"But nero does not recognise it and it has never recongiesed any of my cd burners." Sorry Nick. I didn't read this sentence properly. Where did you get this copy of Nero? It is obviously a version that will only work with a particular brand and model of burner.

Thankyou for you reply, Nero did come with the new burner. And it will not install it freezes on something called driverlocker!? So what next? I hate computers lol Nick

If you have InCD installed, you'll need to uninstall that also.
