appologies for this but diddnt know where to post it

as i have nero express 5.1.1.13 came oem with the cd recorder drive i was wondering if there was any free (legal) updates avalible to update it to 6 at all or at a push 7

I think you will find, that you can only update 5 with 5 updates, 6 with 6 updates etc

I can categorically state that you cant. I've tried it and it doesn't work. It is as Clive Pearce states.

The best you might do is get a rebate on the later addition when upgrading.

OEM software is not eligible to free upgrades.

if you're looking for a decent, modern CD/DVD burning program, i recommend InfraRecorder:

the problem with DeepBurner Free: it doesn't support direct CD/DVD copy.
