I installed Nero Burning Rom on my XP computer. The next time I rebooted, the Welcome screen showed up, and then it automatically rebooted again. After a while I managed to get in. A while after that, I installed the trial version of O&O Defrag. Eventually I couldn't get into Windows at all, so I went into Safe Mode and ran System Restore. I set it to before I installed O&O Defrag. But then the next day it stopped working again, and System Restore said it couldn't restore the computer. Also, the computer froze when I shut down and I had to unplug it. Finally I found this option under System failure in System Properties and I set it to alert me and not automatically restart. Next time it crashed, it told me that this driver BSUDFDR.SYS that Nero installed was causing the system failure, so I deleted it. That fixed the problem of crashing at the Welcome screen, but it still freezes when I shut down, and when I try to reinstall O&O Defrag the installer freezes, and System Restore still doesn't work. Can somebody please help me fix this?

Sounds very strange I have Nero Express on XP Pro seems to work fine.
Are you running the full retail version of Nero?
Also might help if you checked the recomended updates in XP, and the updates for Nero itself. The one thing I do not do is allow any of Nero's startup features to load, that could be part of the problem also,, I only run office, norton, and Cacheman at startup.

I created another Restore point yesterday and System Restore had no problem restoring to it. I'm guessing that the reason it doesn't restore any earlier is because that would require it to uninstall the O&O Defrag, which it can't do because it is not installed.
Any ideas?
