I tried to make my first iso file using Nero 6 , I copied the Knoppix Live cd linux, however Nero did not give me the option of compressing it to an iso ,to the harddrive. If anyone else can explain ,please fill me in.

Nero can burn ISO to CD/DVD but the create format is for NRG files only. Other burning software such as EZ CD Creator can create ISO files. NRG files are images of the original disk, but they are designed mainly for users of Nero.

thank u for your reply, what is the difference , all I know is ISO is
universal as where ,like u said nrg by Nero only, so is an iso more compressed than a nrg ?

I never checked how they are different. I normally use Nero and create the NRG files. Since Nero will create disks from any ISO file I quit using EZ CD Creator. I stopped buying it when the install got larger in my hard drive. Nero was leaner and worked just as well for my requirements. You should not have both running at the same time so my systems do not even have it installed. The files are similar sized when saving either type.
