Unable to get InCD to detect CD-RW in drive; have program installed, Nero says my HP is operational but when I try to format a disc InCD tells me there is no disc in drive - have installed/reinstalled; run in various compatability modes; any suggestions? Thanks, John

I also had compatibility problems with Ahead Nero when I installed XP. I emailed the Nero folks and they said that they are not going to upgrade their software to be compatible with XP. Guess there's not enough profit in sight for them to do that. Anyway, I ended up buying Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum and now everything is fine. Roxio cost me $99 but I've since seen it on sale for $69 (after mail-in rebate).

JRF, just wondering why you want to install InCD since XP has something very close to this program already built into XT.

I know I really don't need the program Dave, but I wanted to learn about packet writing and once I gave into my obsessive compulsive desire to get it installed and working I was doomed to follow through...I have used the XP writer often but it doesn't provide any file/edit organizational tools and I thought InCd would be the next logical step for incremental date transfer.... Um, you guys? InCD for Win 2000 works just fine if you use it in compatibility mode. Download the executeable install program and save it to disk. Set it to work in 2000 compatible mode and it works like a charm. I refuse to believe they wont make a future version to work with XP. They already did it with Nero, and if they exclude XP... do you seriously think it's in thier best interest?

As well as making Nero INCD compatible with Windows 2000 by right clicking the INCD exe file, (BEFORE installing Nero INCD) you also need to disable the Windows XP INCD software. Right click your CDRW drive, select properties/recording and untick ENABLE CD RECORDING ON THIS DRIVE You will now be able to drag and drop to a CDRW without any problem
