Using Windows XP Pro 5.1 (Build 2600)
Plextor 24/10/40A CDRW
Nero Burning Rom 5.5.5.1
Asus A7V - AMD 750 CPU - 512Mb ramWhen first installed, I was able to use a CDRW as a floppy, but now when a file dropped onto the CDRW for writing, I get the following result:
Instead of writing to the CD, a pop up box appears stating I can write the file to the CDRW, which I then click on
A windows XP box appears (NOT NERO) with CD writing tasks
When trying to write the file to the CD, a CD Writing Wizard pops up which when activated states there is no CDRW in the drive!!!
The CDRW directory displays a shortcut to the file which requires to be copied!
I have tried several CDRW (formatted) with the same result.
It appears that the XP writing software tries to take over instead of Nero.
How can I disable the XP software?Any advice would be very much appreciated...
Thanks

i use nero but the INCD does not work with XP from what i can tell. correct me if i am wrong or if someone else reply's tell me where i can get an updated version for XP

Run it in Windows 2000 Compatibility Mode...
See this link:
http://www.iomagic.com/support/Patches/Packet_Writing_XP.htmI haven't tried this myself, but in theory I think it will work.

ATTENTION InCD programer.
So please upgrde InCd for Windows XP
Or you are going to be behing and lossing money.

hi guys, i had the same problem. If you put your nero cd in, it will open the install progie, x out of it, open windows explorer, go open the cd, then to incd, hilight the incd.exe file, right click it, go to properties, then compatibility tab, check the box, tell it run in win2000 compatibility mode and hit ok, then just double click the incd.exe file, incd will then work fine, it will be running in win2000 mode
