only using NERO (not xpress) ... in the meu bar click on recorder ... chose recorder and select your CD-RW drive ... nero always remembers the last settings ... so once you'changed it back it should remain that way ...

(exception: there is no CD-RW drive in your pc ... maybe you changed the drive, or the connection went loose ... just check everything)

Today's subliminal thought is: 'Calm down ... it's only ones and zeros.'

Mattie is right. Although, I have also seen this occur when a CD burner has been replaced. In that case, the version of Nero installed on the machine had been supplied with the old burner. Installing the version that came with the new burner solved the problem.

I don't see how Image Drive could be interfering with your burning. I know for newb's it can be confusing seeing two optical drives when you only have one, but ignore the Image Drive mounted one and use the other one for burns directly to CD/DVD.

5.5.10 did not install Image Drive be default, where 6.x does. Start Nero directly (instead of using the express starter as suggested above) may alleivate some confusion.

Ensure your CD/DVD is addressed in the current installation of Nero (or you may have problems)

If you remove the Image Drive (or neglect to install it the next time you install Nero) that should eliminate it from your computer.

Image drive has been in Nero since the beginning. You cannot remove it and it is not the cause of your issue. Image drive is how you create the .nrg images that are comparable to an ISO image.

If all you see is an image drive and not the actual recorder, it means Nero does not recognize your burner. You say your using an OEM version. Did this version come with your burner? If not, that is the reason. OEM versions are packaged with burners and are striped down versions of Nero. They only contain drivers for the specific drive they shipped with.
