Via torrent download, downloaded a .bin and a .cue file for a movie. Edited the .cue file for the proper location for the .bin file. Used Nero version 5.5.10.7 bundled, to burn to a CD-R. Used Write-at-once. Says burned OK. Checked disc, and it has an .nrg file on it. Is a .nrg file what I wanted on the cd? How do I now play that file? Should I be able to play it on a regular dvd player? a dvd player on the computer? windows media player on computer? Only via a Nero program?
Would another software program be better/easier?
Thanks

If I get you correctly, you have a binary image movie that you intend to burn to a CD-R media so you can watch on your standalone DVD player or computer; right.
Option 1:If you have a virtual image drive, you can simply mount the image to watch it on your computer.
Option 2:
You said you have the cue file, you should be able to burn a disc image from that cue file using Nero
0. Start Nero Burning ROM.
1. Click on the 'Open' button.
2. Select the image's cue file and click on the 'Open' button to select the file and close the window. You are then ready to burn the disc image.
I agree; computing.net does need an edit button.

There appears to be some good information on how to handle BIn and CUE files at the following web site.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/7976

In Nero, bin & cue are image files the same as ISO is to roxio ez cd creator. You need to use the create CD from image option and use the drop down in the type field to all files and then select bin/cue.

It's odd that nero would burn it's own image (nrg) to a cd as a file. Something may be wrong with nero, nero's tech support maybe of more help in trying to resolve this issue.
It could also be that you accidentally burned the bin/cue image as files on the cd. To burn properly you need to press the open button that comes up in the New Compilation Dialog (bottom right). In the open dialog, next to the files of type(bottom): label choose the item that includes .cue files. Then burn disc at once and finalize.
I hope I was of some help.
Truth can become lie, but if lies become truth we're in trouble.

Thats the problem they should not even open a New Compilation box. If it opens by itself close it and go to file > write cd image or burn cd image.

What you are looking for isn't under the File menu item, it's under the Recorder menu item.
Close the compilation "wizard" and select Recorder > Burn Image. Browse to your cue file, then press the Burn icon.
Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

Maybe it's under recorder > burn image in nero 6 but this poster doesn't have nero 6 they have nero 5.5. What he's looking for isn't under recorder > burn image for him. It's under file > burn image, Mr. Sci-Guy, geesh, look before you jump will you.
