I have an older model Scanmaker E3. I need upgraded software or download in order to connect the scanner to my COMPAQ PC that runs Windows XP for home. Can anyone direct me to a download center for Microtek

I have got a Scanport scanner. Quess what? Scanport is not going to have an XP driver. When I went to the Scanport website they had a Microtek driver there. Version 2.54 I believe. I loaded it up and it worked OK. I found Microtek's driver software version 2.60 on the net a couple of days later so I gave it a whirl. It worked better. My scanner now seems to believe it is a Scanmaker v636 for some reason. Oh well. So, it has another personality. But it works fine. So try looking at the Scanport website for an XP driver for a Scanport and you should be able to find some some Microtek software. It is older stuff. But it is listed as an XP driver and it worked for me. the address- http://www.scanport.com/download_scanner.html Look at the bottom of the page. for "sw254" files. There are 5 of them, Disk 1 through five. You haven't got to put them on floppys though, the best I recall I extraxted all the files to a folder that I now have named "XP- Scanner Driver"
