Need to recover overwritten file!

September 30, 2005 at 08:31:47
Specs: windows xp pro, 900/256

Im running an accounts program and someone has now restored it to a previous date and then backed it up, replacing the original backup!!! SO i have lost all the accounts that I had put in!!!!!
The backup file is *.ACC and I have tried using 'Active@undelete' but with no success. Any suggestions on how to recover the overwritten file will be much appreciated...

did you try undoing the restore? Try that, and then you can go back to restoring it again if that works well for you

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Read one of our recent threads here...

Recovering Overwritten Files

By the way the author never posted back so I don't know if he succeed.

The only recourse here is along the path you are already on since it was a file that was overwritten, if the data is worth a couple of $$$$, try GetDataBack from RUNTIME and hope for the best. I have used both variants (FAT & NTFS) of the programs and it saved my bacon in those instances. Goodluck !!!!!
