how can i find out? i tried windows update but it doesnt know either

If you ran WINMSD you would have been able to find the gfx and driver info as reported to XP.

There are many diagnostics software tools that will tell you all the hardware in your system. I suggest Belarc Advisor. It is freeware and will give you lots of other useful information too! =)http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
