I have a Hard drive hung as a slave on another machine. The reason is: The o/s boots to the screen to pick users, I click on any one, it logs in, and quickly logs off. Happens in regular and safe mode. So I put it on another machine as a slave and go from there. The question is this: Where in the OS do they store the users. I know where the names are; documents and settings etc.. I want to delete their PROFILES. I know i know, "if you have it as a slave, why don't you reformat the drive"? Well I can't because the owner has no recovery cd. I would like to repair if it can be done. I have his old machine as well. I know when you delete users in windows, you have the option of saving the files, but that may not happen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The best way would be to install it correctly and try to correct the original problem. Deleting stuff will not correct that. The reason you might not be able to do what you want is that you can't assume administrator as a slave drive. There are some security measures that prevent windows from taking over that drive.
