I'm not a specialist in this but I know a program called HP Memories Disc Creator that comes with an HP computer or that you can purchase... It's a decent good software.

oj12345,

Do you have a dvd burner or is it a cd burner and you would like to make video cd's.
Either way, if you just want to make your home pictures into a dvd or vcd you can do it with windows movie maker and it allows all kinds of transitions or video fades or you can add music and what have you. Your dvd burner will then convert it to dvd format if that is what you are asking about.
I use pinacle's studio 8 and it works just fine for rendering. It also allows you to purchase and dwnld other rendering options.
Either 1 is fine, just scan pictures into files and go from there or download your camera straight to the pc and use drag and drop.
Now if you have old analog videos you wish to convert over then you will need some kind of capturing device to place the movies onto your pc. Some of the higher end graphic cards are set up to do this with rca plug adapters or svideo plug adapters. But you are talking hardware now and not software.
The point being that it is built in to xp already as to software and it is capable of handling what you want. You will want to have a lot of HDD space available to do i8t though. It takes about 6 gigs for 30 minutes worth of video.
Hope this helps,

rc
