Need MoBo / HDD tech advice

My neighbour has this MoBo (about 2 ½ yrs old) with a 3.2GB HDD. http://www.abc.kharkov.ua:8101/mother/daewoo/581.html
He wishes to buy either a 20GB or 40GB HDD. It states in his manual support is only up to 8.4GB.
What is the workaround? Will XP configure it, does it need HDD software or could it be FDSIK’d to 8GB partitions?

You need to upgrade the bios on the mobo...
Go to the website for the mobo manf. and download the flash utility and latest bios. It should tell you there, what changes were made to the latest revision. The 2.5 year old mobo should support larger drives.
Hope that helps...be careful updating your bios.
