Need installation CD for SmartDisk Smartscan 3600 Scanner

April 2, 2012 at 09:36:51
Specs: Windows 7
I have lost to CD I received when I bought the SmartDisk Smartscan 3600 Scanner years ago. Can anyone please tell me where I may obtain a copy of this CD. I cannot find any information about the company who made the scanner still being in business. Without the software I don't know that any driver will be of much use to me, and I have found only download sites where I have to buy a program to down the driver.

If you intend to use the scanner with Windows 7 I suggest you try Control Panel> Devices and Printers> add a device.

I did a Google search and found a reference that Verbatim made the scanner but their site was no help. Same for Smart Modular Technologies.

The reviews from 2003 I found did not rate that scanner very well. You may be better off buying a new one. See the link below.

There are third party driver sites around. If you had a program to edit the scans you can probably locate a free one by searching.

If it is Windows 7, you posted in the XP Forum !

It is extremely unlikely there is a driver available, the only option is to try Vuescan, who offer a Free Trial:

Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....

You could try TWAIN. ie a program that uses basic scanning.

Gimp for example. I think Irfanview also has twain.

A thank you would be nice, if I have helped.
