Hi paul.

Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed runs fine on my computer.

I have a nvidia geforce 2 gts, pIII, 1 ghz, and 256 memory.

There are 2 things you can try. ( I didn't have to do this but maybe something else in your computer is different. )

1. Try running the game under compatibility mode.

Find the application start up file in the Need For Speed folder, Porsche.exe and right click on it.

Click on Properties.

Click on Compatibility tab.

Click on - Run this program in compatibility mode:

Choose which version of windows you want to run it under.

Click Apply.

Click OK.

Or -

2. Rename or delete the gimme.dll file.

It is found in your Need For Speed folder.

I suggest renaming it instead of deleting it, so you can put it back to the way it was if this doesn't work.

For instance, rename it gimme.old or gimme.xxx.

Then if you need to, you just go back and change it to .dll

Take care,

Callisto

Hi p smooth.

I didn't have to do anything special to get it to work on my system.

If my above suggestions didn't work for you, here's another thought.

Do you have the latest drivers for your nvidia tnt 2 video card?

Run Windows Update for your computer. I know Microsoft has newer nvidia tnt 2 drivers that were released after they put out the XP CDs.

To run Windows Update -

Start
Control Panel

Click on Windows Update on left side of screen.

Click on - Scan for Updates - on right side of screen.

Windows will display a list of all updates they have for XP on the left side of your screen.

These updates are for critical XP updates, Windows updates and driver updates.

See if Windows Update says your video card needs an updated driver installed.

You can then download any of the updates they suggest. You don't have to download them all at one time since that would be time consuming. Choose one or two you want and go back later for any others.

After downloading, they install automatically.

Take care,

Callisto
