I second ZoomPlayer - it's very good and doesn't use anywhere near the resources that MediaPlayer uses.

BUT, u may need to download a mpeg2 codec to play DVD's.

Yes I do like Windows Media Player but it tells me I need a decoder. What should I do ?

You need to download the correct "codec" to be able to run the video. Look up NIMO codec pack, all the codecs you could want and more.
