I need to obtain a dosx.exe file, which I think I may have lost when I removed some adware files. Must install it in my autoexec.exe file to access two old programs I use daily. Help

Will that fix the problem tho? If the .exe file is gone, will checking those things get it back? If it isn't, is it possible to "share" the file as long as it's same O/S and puter type?
I have a Dell and XP. My dosx.exe file is 53.KB big. I can send it if this would work.
Just a thought.

Victor,
In reading your previous post [http://www.computing.net/windowsxp/wwwboard/forum/116445.html] you mentioned you cleaned out some advertising. What program did you use to do this? If you used HijackThis, Spybot S&D or a similar program, I'm wondering if maybe your dosx.exe might have accidentally been "fixed"? Try opening up the program you used and see if it's in the backup folder and have it restored. If it's not actually in there, maybe an associated file was "fixed" and that's preventing the dosx.exe from being accessed.
Try restoring everything that the program you used fixed and see if that helps. If it does, then just like on over to the Security and Virus' section and post your logs there. The wonderful people here will let you know what's wrong in the logs and what you can have fixed.
Hope this helps!!!
