You nee3d to know what kind of sound card is on your computer. Is it intrgal (on the motherboard) or a separate insertable sound card. If onboard, go to the motherboard ,manufacterer's web site with the number of your motherboard (it should be listed on your BIOS bootup post or open up the computer case and get it off the board) and go to the drivers section of the web site and get audio driver that matches your motherboard. It's critical you get the right driver. If it's a separate card, go to the card manufacturer's web site with the card's number. Once you download the driver, click on the icon and follow the instructions or you could unpack the driver and go to the device manager in the control panel, click on audio device, properties and the update driver button but you'll lose the extras features doing it that way.
