Hi, Im just curious here i know that i havent got that dreadful w32.blaster.worm ( touch wood), but would like to know if i downladed the symantec tool that gets rid of it, would it be safe for to run this just in case?

You will not harm your machine if you run the Symantec tool and you are not infected. But chances are that you would KNOW if you are infected.

Go to Microsoft.com and get their security patch for the RPC (or RCP, I keep getting that mixed up) vulnerability if you haven't already. If you're using a version of Windows later than '98, then you may already have it (or some version of it that hasn't given itself away yet), so I'd download the symantec tool and scan just in case.
