NAV 2001 & sevinst.exe

OS: XP HE
CPU/Ram: P4 2g, 256ram

Downloaded sevinst.exe from symantec site after being directed there when trying to install NAV 2001.

When I clicked to install, I got the message:

'symevent does not exist on this computer, no action taken'

What do I do now?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Norton AV 2001 does not run on Win XP.
