I have several scans for various critters which seem to be quite effective. Problem is that some take quite a while to do their magic. Is there a freebie scan which can identify nasties so I know which cleaner(s) to use? I'd like to be specific rather than general. TIA.

Not sure what you're asking... but here is a thorough free scanner that seems to be quite effective.
