The Subject line pretty much sums up my problem...my winXP pro's Media Player does not play MIDI files for some reason. I've made Media Player the default program for MIDIs, but when i open a midi file, the media player window pops up and pretends its playing, but no sound is coming out. Strange thing is, Windows Media Player only plays MP3's and some other audio files, but it doesnt play MIDI's at all. Can someone tell me how i get this thing to work?

I am kind of rush right now and i may have missed some important info, so if u need any plz ask. thanks

my winxp is in spanish, so i'm not sure the names of some icons are right. go to control panel, then click on media devices or something .the one with the music icon. then sound devices or something. now click on the 3rd of the 5 tabs, and at the bottom you'll see something that has to do with midi. make sure that sint. sw is selected. if not so, just select it. and that would be all. tell me if it worked
