my xp cannot boot in tshb laptop

hello.... i cannot boot to win xp because messeges: \windows\system32\config\system missing or corrupt. what problem is it? i try to instal new xp but i failed, safe mode failed. i got cdrecovery from toshiba but after try, i still failed, 'coz comp restart n restart again, but still shows recovery screen but there is no recovery progress on that, why recovering procces cannot be one? i try to install hd but i cannot, format wont runnning, oi try to format from many ways, but still failed. is my norton ghost protect my hd? how can i remove hort ghst so i can install win xp..i need your help please... thanks, rusli Ahmad Rusli
