My SmithCorona 4500+ discs need to convert to Windows XP

December 21, 2011 at 10:49:17
Specs: Windows XP
How can I convert my Smith-Corona discs so my Windows-XP can read and copy them into electronic copies? I have 10 chapters of my debut non-fiction manuscript which is 300 pages, on my Smith-Corona, 3.5 discs. How can I change or convert them over to the Windows-XP system? I really need to solve this problem or I will have to rewrite my entire book on the Windows-XP! Please advise!
Thank you,
Rob The Writer

Found one DOS utility to convert from S-C PWP to Lotus WORD PERFECT
SCONVERT is the one.

You may then be able to import the word perfect files into Msoft Word although open office claims to do a better conversion job from WP to MSW.

Lots of google hits with people asking but few answers.

If you havent found a way to do it my company wrote software in the 80's for this, it costs $10 per disk from your model 4500+. Bolding underlining and most formatting is saved. 800 CONVERT 266-8378 x 122
