My SD Card USB reader can't be detected

October 31, 2010 at 17:51:43
Specs: Windows XP, 512 megabytes

It is detectable on other computers but not mine. So I know its not the usb or card's problem. Other USB drives can be detected by my computer. So it is not the port's problem either. I have tried many resolutions but none have worked. These resolutions include of editing the registry, disk management, shutting off the computer and restarting after 5 minutes, and uninstalling the usb ports and letting windows detect it by itself. Please help me, I am a college student, and my teacher is asking for my 40 page report and it is stored inside my sd card.

Is your SD card an SDHC or standard SD card? If
a SDHC card it is possible the card reader cannot read it.

A 2GB card should be detectable in any card reader. I would think that there must be a problem with your card reader. If you do not want to replace it then get an external USB card reader. They are relatively cheap these days.

If you're really pressured for time, use your card in another computer, and email the appropriate file[s] to yourself, or burn to a CD. But make sure you attend to this problem soon, before another deadline looms.

I know I turned it in, but the sd card problem still remains and I really need to fix it.
