My screen broke and used LCD monitor, I did get the diplay. This week I got virus on the system and did reset the c drive to factory restore settings... system said to wait for few minutes and resatred.... the display shows no video ( on LCD) Since the screen on the laptop broke I could not see any..... tried F8 and went to safe mode.... the display is showing the options... but the error message says... you did to setup the system completly...it will restart again and the display on the LCD is gone I could hear some music from the laptop....I need help for setting up the system with out the screen... once the initial setup is done... i think the monitor will work..please help

Seems to me factory settings would send output to the laptop screen. When you cleaned the virus (you did didn't you?), did you remember to disable restore first? If not, it got put back. Examine your video card settings to be sure the virus didn't adversely change settings. HTH. Ed in Texas.

thanks ED for the reply, I did reset the system, and not able to see any thing on the screen.. since its broken, how do i change the settings on the vedio card.... i can see the display on the lcd only if i run in safe mode... and i can go into the options for running the safe mode....this is getting displayed on the screen but system is not letting me go the safemode...it says....intial setup not complete..windows will restart and the display is gone ..but i can here the music on the system loading windows...... I can even go into F2 screen...which is getting displayed on LCD....please help

You do not mention what type of laptop you have. On Dell you need to hold the function key and hit F8 to switch between the laptop screen and monitor. Look for something like that on yours.
