For the Recent Documents:paste the below into
notepad and save it as fix.reg Then click on the file to import it into the registry.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoRecentDocsMenu"=hex:01,00,00,00

Hi Grimples, TC, hello everyone
To remove the My Music folder you first need to change the location to where Windows Media Player saves files.
Within Windows Media Player click on Tools and Options. Select the Copy Music tab.
Change the path to where you would like the files to be saved.
Delete the My Music folder.

mesich: The only thing i want WMP to do is play my mp3's & vids & not to interfere with my PC & try to connect to the net every 3 or 4 minutes, & yes i have autoupdate codecs disabled. Sorry if i sound harsh but i am really pissed of with MS products doing what they think is best for you.
Thanks for the help anyway mesich.

Hi Grimples, hello everyone
"Sorry if i sound harsh but i am really pissed of with MS products doing what they think is best for you".
No problem, I was simply answering your original question; "Is there any way to stop windows media player recreating the "My Music" folder".
If you want to stop Windows Media Player from recreating the "My Music" folder, you need to do as I stated in response #3.
"The only thing i want WMP to do is play my mp3's & vids & not to interfere with my PC & try to connect to the net every 3 or 4 minutes"
What is detecting that WMP is accessing the internet every few minutes?
I ask because neither my hardware nor software firewalls detect any activity from WMP if I'm playing MP3's stored on my computer.
Best Regards,
Mesich
