my laptop is not working

my laptop is not working when i turn it on, a message comes: we apologize for incovenience,but windows did not start successfully. a recent hardware or software change might have caused this. after that it gives me 5 options 1. safe mode 2. safe mode with networking 3.safe mode with command prompt. 4.last knows good configuration 5.start windows normaly when i press no any 1 of them it gives error and the same page comes again..

Time to read up on how to do a xp repair. Basically if you have a xp cd you boot to it and do a repair instead of an install. It may be your easiest choice. I guess you could use safe mode (F8 at boot)with verbose and see what is faulting maybe.
