can someone help.
in a way bt are not providing my internet anymore ???
help???

If you are using an ISP that supplies internet access through the cable and modem or through the phone and a modem there is no need for any installation discs...
Sometimes an installation disc is included with the ADSL connection but is used to access the modem and call home only so as to set up the modem....
With the cable connected modem all that I have ever seen is the initial installation sheet showing how to connect line to connections....and in some cases how to set up the email accounts.
email settings are not required if you use MSN or yahoo or Gmail or some other third party email supplier.
If you use outlook or outlook express then you must know what email server is used for your ISP and you will need to call them for that!Operating Costs = the cost of operating a business
Profits = revenues over and above the operating costs.
Taxes = operating costs mandated by gov.
TaxPayer = what you are called by the gov.

Strange way that BT operate there Internet service. If you have ADSL and a BT Home Hub everything is automatic. You are identified by your telephone number and your password is built in. Plug and Play to perfection. The problem is that the BT Home Hub will only work on BT but it is supplied free. You can be sure the BT is still supplying your Internet service
Applying for a new account is not the way to do it. You could still end up paying for the old one. If you are on ADSL it wouldn't work anyway as BT will recognise that there is already an ADSL connection on your line.
All this assumes you are on ADSL. If by chance you are using dial up then its a different thing altogether. Either way you do not need an installation disk. There are no drivers to install other than a Ethernet driver if you are on ADSL or a modem driver if you are on dial-up, both most likely installed with Windows. All the installation disk does is fill your hard disk with unwanted crap.
BT do not operate a cable service.

How it is possible? Simple. The Windows installation automatically installed the necessary drivers for the NIC (Network Interface Card) so that when you plugged the cable into the computer, your Internet connection was detected.
