Specs: Windows XP, AMDx2 / 2gig pc3200
It doesn't matter which F8 start menu option I try, shortly after the start up strobe begins, under the logo, it crashes, and the crash screen is gone before I can make out any details, and is promptly into restart..... boot from the install disk, and first menu asks to install, or repair, click repair and crashes immediately, and restarts, click install, and it loads files for a moment, the crashes with error codes....0x00000024 is the first one..... help?

Under the F8 menu there's and option to 'disable automatic restart on system failure' - try this for a start - see if the message gives any further clues.

Don't select the 'repair' option with the install disk - if there's an option to boot to the recovery console then use that, & at the command prompt try running chkdsk /r.

Howdy, clicking the recovery console goes straight into restart, F8 menu seems to be missing the disable automatic restart option...... still not able to access C:
