My Hard Drive is almost out!

Specs: Windows XP
I have a really old VAIO laptop and it has 13.9 GB in total but for some reason I only have 68.0 KB! At first we thought it was over crowding of programs but it wasn't. Next I somehow managed to scrap up enough KB to download a virus scan program. It say's I'm protected but my memory keeps disappearing. Also I ran a defrag and a potential amount of the space is untouchable. Though it still doesn't make sense to where all my hard drive space is disappearing to!?

I really don't want to reformat my hard drive if possible.
Please help, Calcifer

If all you had was 68K of HDD space left, your system would even run. And if it really is that full, it's because you don't clean up after yourself.

Make sure you've emptied the Recycle Bin. Some people seem to think that if they delete something & send it to the Bin, it no longer uses any space - wrong! Until the Bin is emptied, that drive space is unavailable for reuse.

Start cleaning house by installing CCleaner-Slim (last one of the following list) & running it:

Then start uninstalling programs that you no longer use. Check your My Documents folder for useless garbage & dump what you don't need. If you have important files or pictures, back them up to a disk or jumpdrive, then delete them from your system.
