for the last year my old emachines computer has been turning off randomly, and itll beep really loud and you can only stop it by unplugging the power cord. it noramlly does that when it over heats/is on for too long but now i cant even get it to stay on for 5 minutes. is there anything i can do or replace thatll fix it or is it just dead?
If you suspected overheating, you should have adressed the problem a LONG time ago. Unplug the power cord, open the case & blow out all the dust. And make sure all the cooling fans spin freely, especially the CPU cooling fan.
