hey, i have dsl and for some reason it keeps kicking me offline about 20 times a day and everytime i call verizon they are saying that my connection is fine but how is it fine when it keeps disconnecting..anyone have any suggestions on what it could be??
It could be your modem, you may want to ask verizon for a replacement. If it's broke, then blow that sucka up!
When we had dsl the same problem would present itself every 6 months or so. It was always the phone line. Either the cord from the modem to the wall jack needed to be replaced or a connection in the attic needed to be tightened.
Try plugging your phone into the dsl line and see if you hear any static....if you do than thats the problem,
Also...and I have no idea why but the connection on the back of the computer would get dust in it. How dust can get into a phone jack I don't know except the fan on our system pulls air in not out...
Somewhere a connection isn't 100 percent.
theres no static so i kwno its not the line..and i know i was thinkin about gettin a new dsl box and just re installin the dsl again but they said ill have to pay for a new box..lol money hungry

How long have yiou been using this modem? The free replacement policy specified one year limitation. After that - go out & head to Best Buy to purchase Actiontec modem/router combo (cheaper) or purchase it from Verizon (expensive).
