my documents comes up at startup

Everytime i turn on the computer my document folder comes up.Then i have to shut it at every start up.Can i stop this somehow?Thanks.

Check your Startup folder and eliminate the document folder from Startup Directory.
Also, check MSConfig. Start-->Run, enter the command MSConfig. On the start tab, go down the list and see if it is contained in the Startup there. Uncheck it if it is, reboot, the problem should evaporate.

Sounds like adware. You may want to do a spy and adware check, I looked it up in Experts Exchange and they said it was spy and adware. HTH
If you need a simple solution, try mine. I try to give advise on things that have happened to my PC. Changes in registry can be FATAL! I now have a 95% success rate!

While you're in msconfig, check the boot.ini file to be sure it's not in there.

i just found a connection to updating to service pack 2 and this problem. It does it only when pack 2 is installed.Also pack 2 will not recogize my norton virus program.Anybody else have this problem? Thanks.

I am having the same problem. Installed SP2 and now My Documents comes up at startup. Looked in Startup folder, and checked boot.ini, I can't find it listed there. Checked for spyware, still same problem. It has become the thorn in my side....
