I bout a PNY 4GB microSDHC card (with adapter). I inserted the card into my LG EnV Touch phone. The phone read the card with no problems and I saved a few pics on the card. I then took the card out of my phone, inserted it into the adapter, and put it into my computer (Dell w/ WinXP). However, nothing happened when I inserted the adapter into my computer. I took out the 4GB card and inserted my 2GB card (same exact PNY brand) and my computer immediately recognized the E:/ drive and I was able to access the 2GB card. Why won't my computer recognize the 4GB card???
It's not a bad adapter because I used the same adapter for both cards and my computer reads the 2GB card fine.
I don't think it's a bad card either because I can save files to it from my phone.
I tried flipping the lock switch on the side of the adapter and nothing happens either way.
I formatted the 4GB card in my phone and saved new pics to try and transfer...but my computer still does not even read or recognize a card is present...so I cannot even try to format it with my computer.
can you try to use another pc to see if it will see the card? that way you get a process of elimination If another pc can read the card then foucus on your pc if another pc can not see the card it may be a compatibility issue with that card
Your software may not be able to read a 4 GB card (FAT32) while being able to read a 2 GB card (FAT16).
Your card reader needs to be able to read "high capacity" cards. You have to purchase a card reader with that capability. There is a difference between the "SD" cards and the "SDHC" cards even though they look similar.
I'm having the same issue and my card reader does support SDHC. I have the EnV Touch as well and I had to format the card to the EnV touch before it would work. I wonder if Verizon has found another way to gimp thier products? I have a Lexar Multi-Card Reader 2.0.
