If your drive is only a CD reader or CD r/rw and not a DVD drive there isn't anything to download that will fix your problem. You need a DVD drive.

Go into "My Computer" and double-click the CD/DVD drive icon.

Thanks Phil22, I have tried that several times, and it shows nothing in the drive.

When you insert the disk eventually the drive should settle down. After that happens, the title of the disk should appear in My Computer. If that doesn't happen then there may be an issue with the drive or the disk.

Have you ever ran that disk on that drive? Is sims on a CD or DVD?

OtheHill... it is a DVD-ROM disk, and I have never tried putting any type of game on my computer before. Is there a program I can download to my computer from the internet that will allow me to load a DVD player? Thanks!
