My Computer Uncontrollably Restarts

October 1, 2010 at 14:46:01
Specs: Windows XP
I recently uploaded, downloaded, or installed something on the computer. Now it keeps restarting our of nowhere after I shut it down. I tried removing all the viruses and spyware as well looking at the "Power Options" under the Control Panel and settings under the "My Computer" properties when I right click the mouse, but none of those have worked. It doesn't say anywhere that I activated an option that says anything about automatically restarting the computer for any reason. Can anybody tell me what's wrong?

This usually happens when you change the ram and use incompatible or faulty modules. It is possible that a ram module has become faulty due to an electrical discharge or an impromptu shutdown. Try taking out one ram module and then restart and see what happens.

Carly Steffen, try unchecking automatically restart after failure and the post the exact error number that comes up when it bluescreens. That way we will have an idea of what the problem is.
The above link is how to do it.

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers
