jl10, sounds to me like your 'splash' screen setting needs to be enabled/altered. It is usually in the "boot" section of the BIOS. "boot settings congifuration", "fill screen logo". Take a look at yours.

If I understand you right -- after your PC boots up your My Document folder is open on your desktop.

If that is correct:

I think you should check START>PROGRAMS>STARTUP and maker sure a link to your my documents folder is not listed in there.

If so just right click on it and select delete.

Software Team: Its a Hardware problem.
Hardware Team: Its a Software problem.

There is nothing in the BIOS that is going to cause the My Documents folder to open up, that is a function of Windows. You can rule out the spalsh screen as well.
You can also Google for a program called Startup Control Panel. It will list all the locations that programs can be started from and all programs in those locations.

Hi,

Click Start->run-->Type msconfig -->locate Startup-->remve check mark for explorer.exe-->restart the sytem
