My Computer Keeps Restarting...HELP

Hewlett-packard / HP PAVILION

Specs: Windows Me, 1024
Okay, this is a very very long story. My parents/my computer did have vista on it, so we decided to change ti bakc to XP, because the computer didn't have a bigger enough hard drive or whatever.

So we put it back to XP. My dad done an Update on it, then got a lovely message form Microsft saying we had illegal copy of XP (not true, btu since we used it on another ocmputer) So i done some research because my parents wnated it fix. I foudn otu i had to just get a crack and what not for it. So after horus searchign i found this one crack, that actually worked and it used the System 32 on yoru computer.

So i uploaded it. It went Great and then i shut down and restarted it working fine and then abotu 2 horus later it started to turn it self off and then back on and now i cant even run a virus Scan to check what it is, the computer stays on for like 15 seconds. I dont think it's the cooling system (brand new computer)

Not the motherboard because, i can still use it normally and it does a scan disk check ect. It works fine in Safe mode. Everythign works fine on the computer, but it just keeps turning it self off.

We cant find the tempature on the computer (it doesn't have one, which is strange) I went back in and deleted the System 32 file i did put in and the downlaod and everything, now it comes up with "Micorsoft found a major error, but has corrected it, Send or Cancel"

I do not know what to do. Is it a virus? Is it our Motherboard? PLEASE PLEASE, help, i need to fix it ASAP.

Your post is very difficult to read. First, what in the world is a "crack" ? Second, of course your computer has a temperature(more precisely, the various components have various temperatures)-you just don't know what it is. Do you know how to get into the bios ? You should be able to check temperatures there, such as for the cpu.

"crack" in a hack as in a "Keygen" as in somethign wasn't legal and made it legal. As in when you downlaod software, it comes with a Keygen/crack and serial codes ect. so yo ucan use the product correctly. I got a "Crack" that was what it was called when i looked and downloaded.

And also it's not the tempature on the computer either, because the computer doesn't get hot enough nor is it on long enough to over heat nor is the fan blocked and all the vents and fan has been dusted as well.

I need seriously help. HERE. i am photographer and i need my computer not this stupid little 8 year old laptop.

Sounds like your power supply may need replacing, but if possible try to boot to safe mode and try run a virus scan. If it still shuts down then its possible your power supply is dying.

It now wont let me hop, into Safe mode...Arghhh...the computer keeps overiding it. We checked the power supply with a volt meter and it's working Great.

I also sow on the ocmputer on my C: drive has 12 new floders with the names like 0b48429a538b838bflda25d and fab9634f25aad7c3a8d7ob

and they all have the same software and when i go to try and delete it a error message comes up saying "cannot delete exe. file, resricted area" and i have never ever seen these files ever one a computer at all and it all have this program to resgistary XP.

So i think it could be a virus but i ran a scan it says no virus

Its so annoying and hard because the computer is only on for 60seconds and then reboots itself again.

Try getting hold of a windows xp cd , set your bios to boot of the cd rom drive first. Then run the recovery console more info can be found here More info. At the command prompt type in chkdsk /r hit enter and it let it finish whatever it has to do , when it is done reboot and see if the problem was solved. Make sure to have the same win xp cd version that you have installed , for example if you have win xp pro service pack 2 you will need a win xp pro service pack 2 disc otherwise you can corrupt the configuration files and it will result in more problems.

Hope this helps
