Well its hard to explain. My computer is just being really 'wacky'. There has been floppy disk errors (80). Also sometimes when I'm typing the computer will just continue typing the last key I pressed even when I let go, and no the key isnt stuck. Also some programs just mess up and dont respond. When I load the BIOS screen comes up, I found if I disable the BIOS gaurd, I have no problems and can continue working fine. But if not, I have to restart (usually force shut down) my computer every 5 minutes or so. Please help?

Help Please :

i dont know myself what the biosguard is but apparently its your problem, maybe a bios problem. try updating the bios or reinstalling it. possibly clear your cmos, just suggestions, im not sure if that will help but it seems like it could.

Like Groove I have never heard of bios guard before.

But problems like that can be related to a dead cmos battery, or a bad power supply.

Jump inot the bios and set it to fail safe defaults, and reboot the system. Once you reboot, jump back ino the bios and have a look at the clock, if it set back to zero set it up correctly, than save the changes and exit, boot inot windows, shut the thing down as per normal and disconnect the power cord from the wall for about 5 minutes.

Plug it back in start the rig and jump back into the bios, if the clock is rested back to zero you have a dead battery on the mother board.

See how you go with that for the moment.

IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT

Do you have SMART enabled in the BIOS? If so, that can cause your system to act that way. SMART if loaded, invariably will NOT permit you to access your FDD.

Will tell you that you have a problem. Been that long since I've played in that area, I can't remember the exact message it gives you.

Assuming you do have SMART enabled, my advice is to disable it and save yourself the hassles.
