Yesterday my computer was running PERFECTLY. Today, my computer had diarreah, and is constipated and puking on the floor and I am extremely frustrated.

Today, out of no where, I get a blasted stop error message, the one ending with 50.

Before I couldn't even start the computer without it restarting right away. I read up on some other sites with my other computer. I managed to get my computer running. I've scanned for virused, nothing, spyware, nothing, I opening up the case and cleaned it out, and it is now very sluggish.

It is quite odd though. The internet works PERFECT.

It takes 10 minutes or so just to start up, and only half of the icons load up. The start menu appears and disappears intermittently, and I cannot open things without a 2+++ minute delay.

I am very, VERY lost and have no idea as to what to do, so I turn this over to the experts, you guys.

I think the RAM might have gone bad but I don't know much.

I'm hoping for the best,

TIA guys. : - \

you add any new hardware recently?

if you didn't add anything, then you shouldn't worry if its a hardware problem

anyway if you are worrying about the memory, go
http://www.memtest86.com and download their utility to test it

If it was perfectly fine yesterday then use system restore, that is what the utility is for.As long as it is not a hardware issue that ought to take care of it.Goodluck

Unfortunately, I disabled system restore for a reason that I cannot remember at this time. :-(

Try last known good configuration..if that works gr8,if not try safemode see if the same thing happens.I have seen something identical happen when there are errors on the HDD.If it happens in safemode too.Test the hardrive before you try to repair XP.Goodluck

I you're sure your computer has gone to hell, try more fans (although that may not improve cooling).
