After I start my computer, just as it comes to my desktop settings, it automatically just restarts by itself. After it boots up the second time, it's usually okay, but sometimes 15 to 20 minutes after my comp's been running fine, it restarts again! I hope someone can help me cause it's annoying and sometimes I loose unsaved info. Thanks.

you do not get error message ?

maybe try rightclick on my computer, select properties, select advanced, select startup and recovery. there you can regulate computer faliure behaviour, deselect " automatic restart"

If that doesn't work you may have a bad power supply. If you have a multimeter you can test it, if not try swapping it with a known good one.

If none of these suggetions work you may have a "gyre" problem as Hummer talks about in the post, "My computer screams at me!" A gyre can cause a lot of weird things to happen, it seems . . .

I had that problem when I first got XP.Turns out for me it was my firewall program-BlackIce Defender.I uninstalled it and havent had the problem since.I think it was a common problem at the time since xp was new and I havent been back to the BlackIce Defender website lately to see if there was a fix.Good luck.

Ever since I disabled the automatic reboot thing, it stopped rebooting on it's own, however it always gives me that error report and the beggining. Oh by the way, I don't have a firewall, so it wouldn't be that.
