my cd burner won't do anything

i just recently installed my dvd-rom as a slave drive and got it to work. both my cd burner and dvd rom were working for a while, but all of a sudden my cd-rom won't do anything, it won't even recognize any cds. can anyone help me?

Could be that the data cable to your burner is not seated right. Check it. Also, check your bios settings. Watch your boot-up process. If it does not see your burner in the boot-up process then you know that either your cable is not connected good or perhaps you don't have the jumper setting correct. Good luck. If you have tried these things already then please don't get mad. Just trying to help.
