hello,
I just purchased the Mustek GSmart LCD2 digital camera to go on an AMD 1.8Ghz, 256 mb brand new system. It does install the drivers but when I plug the camera into the USB slot, everything locks up and times out. I tried reinstalling the drivers, 3 or 4 times and tried uninstalling the USB devices in device manager. When I uninstalled the extended USB the camera could at least be turned on but still didn't unload the pictures. I was on the phone to Mustek this morning but they didn't really get me to do anything and want me to send it back (which I am trying to avoid doing). I was able to take and delete pictures, just couldn't unload them. I hope someone can help. Thanks a bunch!

I installed this on another machine (XP PRO) and was successful. The error I'm getting now is when it gets to "Finding Disk Drive" and locks up until I unplug the camera. I can't send this one back because I now know it works. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I went the MS and updated the 2.0 driver to no avail. I also checked the box about not reporting errors in the device manager (this worked for the other machine). ~sigh~

I notice that questions are getting less and less answered around here...too bad, it used to be a great resource for getting help.

A friend bought the same camera, and has had the exact same problems. But I successfully downloaded the pic to my parents older win2k machine, we belive its usb2 problem, works fine with usb1.

Thank you very much for replying. I sent the camera back and bought the Kodak EasyShare...it works excellent!!!
