I just wanted to post this cause I've been trying to get my Mustek 1200UB scanner working, but since the manufacturer has do drivers yet, and most likely wont for a while (impression I got from thier email reply)I've been looking for alternatives. and behold the answer was right under my nose (in this forum). You have to open regedit and go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ and then change the following keys (write down the originals to change back) CurrentBuildNumber to 2195 CurrentVersion to 5.0 ProductName to Microsoft Windows 2000 and it will install directly and run properly as well. Tried your sugestion but keep getting message saying "you can use only mustek drivers" and it wont let me go any further. Any sugestions??

It does work eventually just keep trying the original message insructions from rinkguy
