Mup.sys reboot loop XP.

WinXP won't start from any mode, including all the Safe Modes, normal mode or "last good configuration". I've tried starting with all my PCI/AGP cards removed, and I've toggled on/off all my CMOS/BIOS options. Anyone have a fix that may work for me?

Forgot to mention that, when using safe modes, the last file being loaded is the mup.sys driver.

Hey You probably need to reinstall XP. If you follow me here you will still have all of your old files and settings when you finish. Boot from the CD and choose to reinstall(not to repair). Accept the XP license agreement. Make SURE you select the same partition to install to. MAKE SURE you install into the Windows folder. Once that is done you will get a window letting you choose to reinstall or repair. Choose repair. It looks like it is doing a full replacement until it reboots, and then you have your old files back.

Taking one stick of Ram out might help it then once you boot up okay then you can put it in the 3rd dimm.

Thanks! I still have to reinstall all programs, but at least the data isn't lost.

Thanks Robbie - removing a stick worked for me. Had 2 512 SDRAMS removed one - rebooted cold. XP booted OK. Shutdown, replaced the stick and booted fine. Didn't have to re-install anything.
Have had this problem several times - seems to occur after installing .Net framework - either alone or with Enterprise Architect.
