Specs: Windows XP
most of the people in our office use the same user name anyway, but i need to be able to give them access to different files. is there a way of using the same user name, but just locking the computer and unlocking it with a different password. the idea is to save time by not having to log off and log on depending on which files people need to access.

No,

Actually you can't really have more than one user with a name. Many people could use the same name but they are not in the OS's view the same user. A user exists either as a local user or a domain user for the most part. (there are other types)
